After the foil test Idefix VII went for a regular sail with standart and Mach 2 foils. However the forestay snapped resulting in dismasting, luckely with no other damage. The set of stays was out of PBO, will not be using that again. Going back to regular stainless steel. The load on the forestay is quite high.
Yesterday Idefix VII got fitted with inverted Y foil Version 4.00. Conditions were: 010900Z 330/12 46/09 995. Geometry: rectangular: 2 x 8mm x 70cm x 12cm, 40Deg x 4Deg. Fixation: 12 layers of carbon, 6 and 2 M8 screws. Aoa set arround 6 Deg. Max speed reached was 5.5 Knots and did not get foiling. Drag to high and not enough angle of attack.
