Debian 9.6 on Lenovo Ideapad 120S notebook
Here are the steps to get Debian running on Lenovo Ideapad 120S:
Create USB installation stick from Debian ISO image:
- download on host debianxxx.iso
# cp debianxxx.iso /dev/sdb login as root
# sync
On 120S press F2 during boot to enter UEFI
On 120S in UEFI secure boot disable
On 120S DO NOT enable BIOS compatiblity mode, stay UEFI !
F12 to boot USB stick with Debian in UEFI mode NOT old BIOS.
the installation calls ATH10K-xxxxxx, these files are NOT needed, do not try and load them.
I selected the Debian default desktop. The installation went real fine, need to add VIM and a few things using apt-get.
This makes for a great Debian notebook !

ADCA Race 11
At the start strong winds made for fun sailing and excitement.
The race itself went fine in about 15Kts of NW winds and chops in temperatures of 30C. The course was flex and we finished just a few boat length ahead of Mistress. The spinnaker run was chaotic, we made the error of leaving the jib up. The A4 was hard to stabilize. This was a great sailing day.
